About Me
I spent a few years at big tech companies (Google, Amazon, Facebook) before I moved into startups. Did some cool ML stuff, saved some companies money, increased some metrics - the usual tech career things.
Once I moved into startups, things got way more interesting. At Scribe, I got to experiment with growth engineering and build features that actually shipped to users the same week. At Untether Labs, I was CTO and got to experience the full rollercoaster of building a company from scratch with some of the smartest, hardest-working people I've ever met. Was a blast, and I'm looking to build something similar again.
Why Cadra?
There are actually a lot of excellent apps in the fitness space - Strong for lifting, Strava for running, Oura for recovery, and many more. So many, in fact, that it feels like I've built a portfolio on my phone.
We're at an inflection point with AI where the technology is so good that two interesting things are happening:
- It's becoming more valuable to get all this data in one place (you can get some crazy insights from all your data even today - I've used it to make an excellent marathon plan for a friend using their diet + Strava data)
- It's becoming way easier to build software. Building all of these apps is a lot of hard work, but it's probably 5x faster and cheaper to build it now.
I think the insights you can get from AI are so actionable and useful now that it's worth building a product around it. This is going to happen in every industry eventually, I'm just most excited about trying to build something in the fitness space.
How I Work
I'm based in San Francisco, and since it's just me I usually work from home, other than trips to steal snacks from my friend's offices in the city. I usually do my workouts in the morning, then work on Cadra until I have other social obligations.
